The sponsorship valued at N$10 000 forms part of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the National Housing Enterprise (NHE) and the Namibian University of Science of Technology (NUST) in 2017. The purpose of this agreement is to recognise the high achievers and the outstanding work within the academic program (Urban and Rural Development).
As part of the company’s corporate social responsibility programme NHE has been awarding best performing Rural and Regional Development Planning students for the past 7 years. The programme has benefited over 24 students since it was first introduced in 2017.
Fenny Angula, the best final year student in the Bachelor of Regional and Rural development program, said: ‘When you work hard and your work is recognised, it motivates you to work even better.”
NHE’s Human Capital & Strategy Acting Executive Dapewa Walther, said: ‘’This initiative helps to award good performers, acknowledge hard work and commitment students have towards their education. NHE is committed to ploughing back into our communities and making a difference in the lives of the Namibian child.
