Following an engagement held by senior officials of the Enterprise and the Development Bank of Namibian (DBN) on the sidelines of the SADC-DFRC Forum held in June 2024 in Mahe, Seychelles, the two entities had a follow-up meeting today (14 August 2024) to explore joint projects aimed at addressing housing shortages and improve access to affordable and quality housing for Namibians.
Discussions centered around capital investments in the housing sector to acceleration land delivery projects, especially in localities that are highly affected by housing scarcity such as Windhoek.
The two entities agreed to continue working together to foster close ties which will culminate in the actualization of land servicing projects in areas where NHE owns un-serviced land. The Enterprise has un-serviced land in Windhoek (500 plots), Katima Mulilo (546 plots), Nkurenkuru (171 plots), and Oshakati (70 plots) that require capital funding to install services which will pave way for housing projects.
